The Goodness Of Lime Fruits Part2

Let’s continue our talks on lime fruits and conclude same here.

One of the best things about the lime fruits and its juice is its many excellent medicinal properties and its use in the prevention and curative values of ill-health.

It is on record that what modern medicine in its advance stage could not do, lime fruits can and this is good news indeed.

Among all fruits, lime fruits come to mind as the best medicinal fruit. We saw in part 1 of this discourse how the English navy used it to keep scurvy at bay in their many seafaring voyage or military conquest. They kept this as a secret for years and dominated the high seas.

Now, all these is shared and no longer a secret, but only to the ignorant minds.

It is on this basis that lime fruit is distributed to workers in many unfriendly work place where scurvy is likely to break out, like coal mines, cement factories, heat furnaces and painting shops.

Other health benefit information on the fruit and its juice include the following and much more.

Care of the skin: The juice and its oils care wonderfully for the skin. This can be the consumption of the entire fruit or externally applied. Due to its many antibiotic, antiseptic and disinfectant properties, lime fruit juice or limeade and its oils (lime oil) cures rashes, dandruff, enzymes, acnes and pimples. That is why they are the main ingredients in many cosmetics, skin and hair care lotions and oils.

Easing Constipation: The acids in lime fruit juices scrub and wash off any dirty in both the excretory and digestive systems. This in turn benefits the immune system. In this way, it helps to ease constipation.
When I was a boy, I used a pitch or two of common salt to mix two or three pieces of the lime fruits that I squeezed into a cup of warm water. This prevents the juice from being too sour. This solution or mixture is a good purgative remedy. When it is taken with a cup of cucumber fruit, it strongly evacuated dirty in the intestines and has no negative side effect.
This is one of the best homemade purgative herbal remedies without resorting to herbal teas over the counter.

Prevents Diabetes Lime fruits can be use to prevent diabetes mellitus. The Glycemic Index (GI) of the fruits is 0 or 1. And prevents the tendency of the blood glucose (sugar level) to rise high.. This is related to preventing high blood pressure and heart diseases. This is because of the high soluble fibre in the fruits.

Prevents Fever Many agreed that lime fruits can prevent fever and it is also an antidote for its treatment. My experience here is should I develop a feverish condition, (I rarely get sick these days due to my taking good care of my body with natures greens) I will squeezed at least two fresh lime fruits into a cup of warm black tea. I take this three times morning, noon and evening to cleanse my digestive system. Then I will eat my supper.

Cholera Cholera can strike any time without notice. Talks about it being confirm only to some third world countries is useless. It is a very serious disease where water is concern. So if by mistake a water system, whether domestic, public or industrial get polluted, cholera can strike, right?
So here is the chance to put a few drops of fresh lime juice in your drinking water no matter how safe it is. The few drops of the juice you squeezed into the drinking water refreshed the water much more with a nice flavor.

In this way, one can prevent many other ailments like gum disease of the mouth and gout because of its vitamin C powerhouse.

We know all fruits and vegetables has vitamin C. For example, guava has 85% vitamin C; while lime has 35%. But due to the citric acid content of the lime fruits, its vitamin C is more powerful than any other fruits and vegetables. Piles I cannot remember the last time I bleed when I went to eased myself in the toilet. But I do know for sure that I bleed. Piles are also known as hemorrhoids. It happen in the anal part of the body when you when to stool or piss. Limes prevent its formation without any side effects.

Lime, further prevent and cures any sores as a result of the hemorrhoids. In this way, cancers of the colon and anus can be get rid off.

As a person who is taking limes regularly in my drinking waters, I have not see the disease occur again, not even in my household or family. That is why I can recommend it to be used freely in salads, cooktail, wines, teas, and all meals just by sprinkling a few drops of its juices on the food one is about to eat. You can add it to all any other fruits and get a maximum benefit in its vitamin C plus citric acid content.

The Goodness Of Lime Fruits Part1

Lime fruits are essentially one of the very best fruits available to mankind.

You can think otherwise, but I cannot help it. You can tell me which, and I am eager to research that information and come to a reasonable opinion.

Feel free to have and share your views. But remember learning is still a process. I think too that I can benefit more from your comments and opinions.

Lime fruits fall within the citrus fruit family which includes lemons, oranges, grape fruits and tangerines.

When I was a boy of roughly 10 years, I remember grandmothers plant them in our big compound. I remember they were three of the lime trees which always yield a good harvest.

I am one of the boys among others who always have a pick at these lime fruits at the harvest time and enjoy its medicinal juice.

As a boy, we all know the limes were fruits, but we know nothing of what they did to our body. To prevent us small boys from picking much at them, the older ones will be telling us it  suck at our bloods and make them useless or weak apparently from keeping us away from the juicy fruits.

Years later, when I am into secondary or grammar school, I had better information on what fruits including limes did to the our body system.

So, the food masters controlling food supply to the school always ensure we are regularly supply with some fresh fruits including oranges and tangerines, since these are most easy to obtain in bulk form the then the lime fruits. People always detest limes due to its sour acidic taste.

In the citrus fruits group, lime fruits later came first to make history in curing the disease called scurvy. My apology to lemons.This feat is credited to the English Royal Navy. It became their military secret for years against all other nations navies. This made the British navy a power on the high seas for years.

Lime fruits also made marks as the first ever fruit juice to be bottled in history.

Enough of all this historic talks here on lime fruits.

Once again, let’s get on our main subject lime fruits.

If there is any fruit or fruit juice that a person should suck before anything else other than a glass of cold or warm water in the morning on rising up from bed, limes must be first. Others will tell you that lemons should be first, that is okay with some because both fruits limes and lemons are from the same family, the citrus fruits.

You see limes in dilute form scrub the stomach and intestinal walls. Tell me what this means to you.

You know the sense in scrubbing a floor, the kitchen sink, the bath tub and toilet poo  right?

This is what limes, among the citrus fruits does when taken in the morning in dilute form either in cold or warm water.

Taking this along with a cup of cucumber fruit will work best as a pre-breakfast meal before the main breakfast.

This action will help in keeping the stomach and intestine clean and healthy.

It help develop and weak immune system into a strong organic form.

It is a plus for a healthy respiratory system.

The vitamin C content of lime fruits helps in the absorption of iron compounds in to the blood stream. 

The vitamin C factors further helps to prevent a cold or the so called common cold.

No, vitamin C does not and will not cure the cold. It only helps in preventing it. It is this vitamin C that helps in keeping the respiratory system strong and healthy.

I regularly drank dilute lime juices on waking up from sleep in the morning. First thing is to gangle the throat and risen the mouth with the juice. The rest go down inside my stomach.

You can use lime fruits in many ways that suits you.

It does not have any minus side effect in the digestive system. It always promotes good health in dilute form.

In its undiluted states, it can attack the gum enamels of the teeth. This is its only drawback because of its citric acid properties.

The oils in its zest can attack both the skin and eyes if care is not taken. But it is not that very serious. 

Anyway, much care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes when the skin is being zested.

I used them in my bathing water. After robbing myself thoroughly with soap and spongy, the lime base water washed off all the soapy lathers and keeps my skin clean. Not only this, my skin stays fresh and it is not a platform for skin diseases.

I hardly get acnes, enzymes, pimples and other skin blemish.

Press the zest into your palms and message your hair and scalp with the oils after bathing.

Every part of the lime fruits is very useful. The zest and seeds which is mostly discarded is full of medicinal benefits.

Oils were mostly obtained from the skin or zests and this can be used in many ways. I extract it with peanut oil or virgin olive oil for caring my hair.

The zests when eaten along with the seeds prevent worm formation in the intestines. In other words, it made the stomach environment unfriendly for the breeding of unwanted worn that are harmful for the body. This is an antidote for worm killing.

Welcome to green4foods blog.

It is all about getting the best out of the green foods or raw foods we see in nature without destroying its many natural benefits. I mean we should not cook or fried any fruits. Green leafy vegetables if not cooked half done must be washed with clean warm water.

I think you understand the issue well. When I say green, I do not limit myself to fruits and vegetables only in a technical or scientific sense. Personally, I will include birds, animals and marine spices that breed in their natural and friendly premise.

Many of us wash our greens in fresh cool water because these came from inorganic farms. Yes, these are clean protected from virus but are loaded with insecticides and chemicals used as fertilizers.

You see this is a fast tract age. Whatever one needs can be gotten at the push of a button; or you warmed a can of soup in a micro oven, then opened it and you are done.

We can do the same thing by unpacking noodles, beef-rice, pork chop and what you have in a pot and warm same in the oven and it is done.

We are told this ready to eat meals are much cleaner, healthier, fortify with multivitamin and mineral matters.

Some of these convenience foods were even said to be fortify with vitamins and mineral matters from sea weeds as if that obtained from the synthetic process is not enough.

I can even imagine one day or some days vitamins and minerals from the moon can be super fortified with these convenience foods because life, it is said is being discovered there or in mars?

Yes, even fruits and vegetables one can easily get in a canned form.

What about potato chips or pop-corn? It all goes with a bottled fruit juice or mineral drink.

These are very delicious and palatable with all its promised goodness of health.

Yes, they are enriched or rather fortified with vitamins and minerals. Well by taking both the chips and drinks you get more than is expect of you, right?

Nevertheless, I can say here that all the promise of the food being fortify is a marketing and promotional strategy employ by the manufacturing company.

Do the real natural things go into these products? This is hardly the case.

If you read label on the products well, you will realize that the real juice are not there 85%, but flavors were the only main ingredients in these items.

Where it says for the contents preservatives, lime flavor, vitamin C, etc these are all synthetics chemicals.

Glaring advertising preparation of the drinks do not contained the real fruit juices as seen on television.

But you can get 100% fruit juice-real lime, lemon or orange juice or any other fruit juices at a princely price in most good wine stores.

Once more, to get the real thing, you will force yourself out to buy it at a local vegetable or fruit market. You get value for your money and health for getting them in their natural complex state.
This is the state in which green or raw foods are in a balanced state. Here their retained all their goodness, vitamin, mineral matters or photochemicals.

I can hardly believe it that process foods are more digestible than complex ones.

Before the introduction of refined foods, mankind has been eating from nature in its green or raw states for decades without much ill-health. And to say now that refined foods or convenience foods have better health values than the natural green foods is misinformation.

This is an absurd thinking. The inventors of this school are more interested in money than your health or anything else.

Okay, grant the fact some truths can be realize in this test, it pose some risk in promoting ill-health.

With the introduction of machines, the refining process takes on a new dimension.

 Now, nearly every foodstuff including fruits and vegetables can be refined; and they do have an eye opening results in our body. All these are momentary leaving loads of sickness that doctors cannot now control.

They are shook by the many results seen in eating unwholesome foods.

Now health workers including doctors and dieticians are telling us to eat more of natural food source than the convenience foods. 

They say you should take 13 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.

Why is this so you may query. My answer is to dissolve and dislodge the ill effect done by the many refined foods you have taken into your body. What you eat is what you are, or you become. You eat sickness, you become sick. You eat health, you become healthy, right? You should think of it this way.

Medical research has shown that persons who eat a lot of natural foods in their raw complex states including fruits and vegetables more matters were more healthier than those who subsists on all refined foods. The former groups were free of heart disease and its related ailments including diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke. The research carried a period of 17 years.

In this blog, I will high light foods that will benefit every person in more than one way including kids and elder persons; the history, nature, benefits and medicinal use if any. Much more than this, it will inform and educate.

Above all else, I will welcome all comments and suggestions gladly. It is a way of sharing much information on questions likely to arise.

More so, include some greens every day in all your meals or snack an orange or a berry.
